                                                                                                     TODDLER TIME
A program for the little ones ages 2 and 3.  This program is filled with stories, games, rhymes, poems, and songs to captivate the imagination of the very young.  Early literacy is defined as "what children know about reading and writing before they actually learn to read and write."  Toddler Time is a chance for the children to spend time in the Library and learning the love of reading.  This program runs every Wednesday at 10:00am.  Children's programming is free, thanks to a grant from the RBC Foundation.

ESL TUTORING FOR CHILDREN
This is available for children ages 5 to 10 at the Library Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 4pm.

               HAVE BOOKS, WILL TRAVEL

Attention teachers and daycare or dayhome workers!  The Library would love to spend some time in your classrooms reading stories from their childhood, sharing their love of reading with your kids!  Having guest readers at your school can have a tremendous impact on students and children, allowing them to hear someone new read books aloud and share how reading has helped them in their lives.  Our staff will share good stories and favourite books, and introduce your children to the public library.  Contact Carrie at 780-849-5250 or programs@slavelakelibrary.ab.ca to book a time.
