Donations

The gift of books and other materials will be gratefully accepted. Patrons are advised that donations will become the sole property of the library to be used as needed. They will only be placed into circulation if they meet the Library’s guidelines for selection. If they do not, they will be sold on the used book table, and the proceeds will go towards funding programs and to purchase other library materials. Donors have no further claim on materials and cannot stipulate how they are to be used.

Types of items that will be accepted:

• Recent (within 2 years) hardcover fiction or non-fiction in good condition and on timely or popular topics
• Paperback fiction in very good condition (must not be yellowed, have cracked spines, must have covers)
• Children’s hardcover books in very good condition
• Young adult books in very good condition
• Large print books in good condition
• CD’s and DVD’s in good condition (no scratches),(no “R” rated please)

Items that will NOT be accepted:

• Magazines
• Encyclopedias
• Textbooks
• Reader’s digest condensed books
• Books with broken bindings or pages missing
• Books marked with highlighter pen
• Books with yellowed or brittle pages
• Computer software

Please do not place donations in the book return.
