Early literacy is important! Reading to your children can help with their ability to understand words, develop speech, improve concentration, and encourage imagination.
At the Slave Lake Library we have implemented 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program to help keep families reading!

When you sign up at the library you will receive your first tracking sheet, which will help you track your first 100 books.
Fill in a circle every time you and your child finish a book together.
When you have read 100 books together, bring the sheet back and you can pick a prize out of the prize box, as well as pick up your next sheet.
When you finish your last sheet, putting you at 1000 books, your child will receive a final prize and a certificate!
