Fines for Overdue Items

The library charges fines on overdue materials to encourage patrons to return items on time. Any fine revenue raised is added to the library's operating budget.

Fines are charged on late materials on a calendar day basis. Charges over the Library Board's set limit of $10 will result in the loss of borrowing privileges until the fines are paid. Library card registration is updated annually and any outstanding charges must be paid at that time.

Fines are charged on overdue materials up to a maximum amount per item. If materials are not returned once the maximum has been reached, a bill is issued. Bills include overdue charges plus the cost for material replacement. If materials are returned then the replacement costs are cancelled, leaving only overdue fines to be paid. Replacement fees paid after the item has been removed from the cataloging system can not be refunded.  In these cases the item can be kept by the patron upon payment.

Damaged items and lost items are billed at their replacement cost. It is at the Librarian's discretion to decide if a patron will be charged for a replacement item.

Renewing Items

Late fines can be avoided by returning or renewing items by their due date. You can renew books in person, by phone at 780-849-5250, or online by logging in to your account at TRACpac

Most items may be renewed twice, unless other patrons have holds on the item.

Placing Holds

Can't find what you're looking for on the shelves? You can place a hold in person, by phone, or online by logging in to your account at TRACpac

You may place up to 25 holds at a time. Items are held for 2 weeks; please call the library to extend the pick-up period.

Please suspend your holds if you will be away for an extended period of time or cancel holds that are no longer desired. You can do so in person, by phone, or online by logging in to your account at TRACpac

Please allow for at least 2 weeks for an item to come in. Sometimes there is a long wait list for a popular item, so waiting time varies. You will be notified when your items come in.

Lost or Stolen Card

For your protection, contact the library immediately to report a lost or stolen card so we can stop others from using it. You are responsible for anything borrowed until it is reported. Replacement cards are $2.00.
